Crack sealing/filling has two purposes:

(1) To prevent the intrusion of water into the underlying layers of the pavement structure which would further weaken the pavement

(2) To prevent the intrusion of incompressible materials from entering the crack, which causes further deterioration as the pavement expands and contracts with seasonal temperature changes

 

Infrared Pavement Repair Corporation utilizes Beram 3060 LM crack sealant which is a high performance, hot applied, single component extra low modulus joint and crack sealant. 

 

Crack sealing is another tool that IPR utilizes, in conjunction with hot in place recycling to extend the service life of  your asphalt structure.
