OUR TECHNOLOGY

Infrared Pavement Repair Corporation utilizes equipment manufactured by our sister company, Heat Design Equipment Inc. in Kitchener, Ontario.

We use a variety of asphalt repair products, and complete the service as well, that can remediate the defective localized area's capturing up to 96 square feet at a time.

Using our infrared heating system, we can heat the site asphalt within half an hour. Work areas can be driven on shortly thereafter (once the asphalt repair area has cooled to a suitable temperature).

TYPES OF ASPHALT PROBLEMS

Base problems

Water infiltration is the largest contributing factor in adversely affecting the asphalt structure. Standing water will eventually destroy the asphalt in this area. The problem is most commonly caused by frost expansion/contraction in the gravel base or in the sub-grade. At a minimum these areas should sub excavated and full depth replaced.

Cracks

Pavement failure starts with a crack. Asphalt cracking is caused primarily by the effects of sun and moisture and ground movements. Once the crack has reached the surface, moisture is able to reach the pavement’s subsurface and pond, leading to spalling from freeze/thaw cycles.

Surface Problems

Ravelling or very porous asphalt,

Alligatored areas, Oil spots, Old or badly dried out asphalt, Special Cleaning Problems.
